It’s time to say goodbye to the cult TV series How I Met Your Mother: after the two-week negotiation, the CBS TV network has signed a contract with the 20 Century Fox Tv to film a spinoff entitled How I Met Your Dad. The story of the protagonist Ted Mosby and his friends continues to gather viewers in front of the screens around the world. In addition, the founders of the film have twenty-eight nominations for the Emmy award and nine statuettes.
The producers of the comedy sitcom sequel will include not only the original creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, but also a producer of the series All Night Long, Emily Spivey.
Despite the fact that the How I Met Your Mother project and the How I Met Your Dad spinoff will have a common theme, the authors promise a lot of new characters and, in general, a separate plot. The situation is presented only from the female point of view.
The producers of the spinoff decided to choose Ted’s, Barney’s, Marshall’s and Lily’s favorite pub MacLaren as a link between the old and the new characters. It is still unknown whether the new characters of How I Met Your Dad will appear in the final series of the comedy sitcom.
It should be noted that the world’s authoritative publications have criticized the spinoff project. For example, Time magazine published an article under the headline Please Do Not Make a How I Met Your Mother Spinoff. However, it is the spinoffs that continue to be the main solution to financial problems in broadcast networks, which are highly dependent on the loud recognizable brand.
The last ninth season of How I Met Your Mother was launched in the U.S. on September 23. Its first episode was released in 2005. The main roles in the project were played by Josh Radnor, Neil Patrick Harris, Cobie Smulders, Jason Segel and Alyson Hannigan.
