The Huffington Post has created the list of the most commercially successful Hollywood stars of the decade, which included Gwyneth Paltrow, Orlando Bloom, Emma Watson, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hanks, Keira Knightley and other celebrities.
The counting system proved to be quite complicated: the editors took a pool of “real stars” (the most popular actors of our time) and discovered what movies with their participation have collected more than $200 million during the last ten years. Johnny Depp, Liam Neeson, Tom Cruise, Hugh Jackman and other top stars happened to be the most prolific actors in the field of “cinematic bestsellers” (nine films with the income of over 200 million dollars), but none of them managed to get the desired first place, while some of them even failed to enter the top ten.
The most lucrative movie stars were the representatives of the Harry Potter franchise: Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe. The second place went to Gwyneth Paltrow and Robert Downey Jr. thanks to their participation in “The Avengers” movie based on Marvel comics and the “Iron Man” franchise. The honorable “bronze” was taken by Orlando Bloom (thanks to the “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “The Lord of the Rings”).
