There are films with innuendoes, and the impression they make remains for a long time. They change our worldview, switch the mind and leave thousands of questions that are worth discussing with friends again and again in an attempt to find the answers. We suggest talking about four of such films.
“Cloud Atlas”, directed by Tom Tykwer, Lana and Andy Wachowski
Six stories, five reincarnations, and all of them are closely intertwined. The film grabs the audience for almost three hours which pass like a single minute. Six storylines that constitute a plot only at the last minute will turn your mind upside down and leave a whirl of thoughts and emotions in your head.
“Inception”, directed by Christopher Nolan
In order to steal, one must have certain skills. A skilled thief named Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) makes it better than the rest – he steals information from the subconscious of a man during sleep. The penetration into the subconscious, the mixing of a dream and reality, life in a fantasy world with his wife Mal (Marion Cotillard)… After watching, the movie leaves a lot of questions that will puzzle you for more than one day.
“The Jacket”, directed by John Maybury
The main character (Adrien Brody) is suspected of the murder of a police officer. Due to amnesia, he is considered insane and sent to a psychiatric hospital, where he is subjected to numerous experiments. He is given his jacket and locked up in a mortuary chamber, where his subconscious mind starts to wander and look into the future. There he meets Jackie (Keira Knightley), a grown-up girl he saw on the road shortly before the death of a police officer. Jackie is the only way to shed light on the events of that day.
“Mr. Nobody”, directed by Jaco Van Dormael
A 118-year-old man, who calls himself Nemo Nobody (Jared Leto) is the last mortal man in the world, which is now inhabited by eternally young clones. The entire film creates a “butterfly effect”, and chaotic fragments of Mr. Nobody’s memories compose several different stories of his life. It is not clear, which of the memories are real and which ones are just possible variants of Nemo’s life that have never happened.
