The first trailer for the Fifth Estate movie has appeared on the net. The plot of the movie is based on real events with Wikileaks and Julian Assange. British actor Benedict Cumberbatch, known for his role in the Sherlock TV series, plays the main role in Bill Condon’s film. The script was written by a former Wikileaks activist Daniel Domscheit-Berg, who wrote a highly critical book on the project later – Inside Wikileaks: My Time with Julian Assange at the World’s Most Dangerous Website).
Julian Assange himself speaks negatively about the film. In his opinion, this is the propaganda against the organization and his colleagues, and a lie built on a lie. In particular, Assange is mostly outraged that the film claims as if Iran had nuclear missiles. The official Wikileaks twitter was quick to react to the trailer:
“The Fifth Estate Trailer has just been released. Don’t be fooled. It implies we gave Iran nukes and killed 2,000”
