When Brad Pitt traveled to many countries of the world with a promotional campaign of his latest cinema product “World War Z”, it was not in vain. A zombie extravaganza, filmed by Mark Foster, became the most successful motion picture in Pitt’s career. The film has collected 502.6 million dollars in the box offices worldwide, beating the actor’s previous movie record with “Troy”, which earned 497.3 million dollars.
The movie about a former UN employee Gerry Lane, who tries to stop the zombie apocalypse and save the humanity has collected 197.4 million dollars in the U.S. box offices (by the way, this amount is also a record for Brad), whereas showings in the cinemas in other countries brought 305, 2 million dollars.
It is worth mentioning that Mr. Pitt, who is also a co-producer of the movie, personally presented the “World War Z” to viewers in London, Paris, Berlin, Sydney, Seoul, New York, Moscow, and Tokyo. The actor brilliantly combined the promotional tour with rest, traveling around the world with his wife and children, while the appearance of Angelina Jolie on the red carpet only increased the agitation surrounding the premiere.
Two more movies with Pitt are expected to appear this fall. They are Ridley Scott’s thriller “The Counselor” and Steve McQueen’s drama “Twelve Years a Slave”. In both films, Michael Fassbender was Brad’s partner on the filming set.
